A new report has been released showing how many sales different games consoles’ games and game publishers are achieving in the UK. The results weren’t especially surprising, but they are interesting, especially as we don’t ever get to see any actual sales figures.
The report shows that 5.2% of all games sold in the UK were for Sony’s PlayStation 4 – more than half of the UK market share. 31.6% of the games in the UK were sold for the Xbox One. PC showed as a very low 1.3%, however, the report didn’t take into account digital sales, so the figure for this is probably not all that accurate.
EA was the top publisher and sold 16.8% of all boxed games in the UK. This was closely followed by Activision Blizzard with 15.6%, and Nintendo with 11.2%.
One of the more surprising details came from mobile games figures, which showed Subway Surfers to be the top mobile download.

Within seconds of the Black Friday sales launching yesterday, the website for popular website GAME crashed. The sale was launched at 8 pm, with many promises from the retailers of packages including PS4s, Nintendo Switches and Xboxes. However, as people loaded up the website at 8 pm, the site crashes almost instantly.
People took to Twitter to complain and were talking about a white screen, saying the website was indicating an error and was simply timing out. The website is now back up and running, and it looks as though many of the bundles are still available. These are some of the most popular:
- 500GB PS4 console with Gran Turismo Sport and Knowledge is Power
- PS4 Pro 1TB console with Gran Turismo Sport, Uncharted: The Lost Territory, Overwatch and Now TV pass
- Nintendo Switch console in neon or grey, with Super Mario Odyssey and Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Deals will be available today, with indications from GAME that they will sell out soon.

The new game from developers Sucker Punch Productions is called Ghost of Tsushima and it was announced at Paris Games Week. This is their first title since Infamous back in 2009 and it is looking highly likely that the game could make the developers even more, well, infamous.
Little is still known about the details, as gamers are being kept in suspense about many of the releases mentioned at the event. It’s going to be a samurai adventure and could, from its first appearances, be straight out of a comic book.
The game is set in Tsushima Island as the Mongol Empire invades. The main character is a remaining samurai, who must go into battle and learn new ways of fighting in order to survive. The game is thought to be set around the year 1280, with the Battle of Hakata Bay and the occurrence of a severe and devastating typhoon. Much more is still to be revealed.

The standard edition of the Xbox One X is now available to pre-order. With the Xbox One X Project Scorpio edition selling out almost immediately, there is no need to worry – there is still the opportunity to get your hands on the standard edition.
Microsoft have said that the Project Scorpio edition was the fastest-selling Xbox pre-order of all time. It has been confirmed that it will not be made available again, so if you missed out, the standard Xbox One X console will be your best bet.
130 games will be able to make use of the power behind the Xbox One X. Some are brand new and some will be more familiar, like Dead Rising 4 from Microsoft Studios, Mafia III from 2K, Tinfall 2 from Electronic Arts and World of Tanks from Wargaming.net.
The console can now be pre-ordered from all major retailers. It will be released officially from the 7th November 2017.

Subscribers to PlayStation Plus will soon know which games are going to be revealed for September 2017. However, Sony have released some tantalising information ahead of this – they are going to be previewing Rainbow Six Siege over the coming weekend. This will also be available for Xbox One and PC users, as long as they have an Xbox Live gaming account.
Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid, to give it its full title, is a destructive shooter game that relies on tactics. Players will be able to choose from three new operators who all have new gadgets. There will be some changes to gameplay as well, with attackers being able to use weapons differently and switches between characters. The setting is an old, rundown, haunting theme park in Hong Kong.
The game can be purchased half price until the 4th September and players can save any progress they make during the upcoming free weekend.
