Review of Sniper Elite on the PS4

Posted on November 18, 2022 at 8:46 am

If you are a fan of third person, combat shooter games you may want to try playing the latest Sniper Elite from Rebellion Developments. Unlike the manic pace of some other combat games Sniper Elite 5 is able to be played at a slower pace but is equally as entertaining as it requires careful tactical planning and accurate shooting skills.

At the beginning of the game, you have no weapons to use and so the first challenge is to find a weapon and ammunition. Once you have these you need to kill three opponents without being eliminated yourself. Following your success, you then have access to further weapons and ammunition of increasing superiority and also binoculars which prove to be essential for success in future missions.

The game has various special features such as slow motion tracking of bullets and gory impact shots which can be turned up or down as required. The cut scenes in Sniper Elite are of fantastic quality and characters look so realistic you sometimes forget that they are computer generated.

A good feature of the game is that it can be played again and again and by taking different decisions different outcomes are achieved. This makes the game good value for money as it can be played time and time again.

Best educational games for kids

Posted on June 30, 2022 at 7:53 am

Children are using tablets and games consoles more and more in their free time and many parents worry about the amount of time their youngsters are spending staring at a screen. Although it is important that children do not spend hours on end on these devices, instead of restricting the time they spend could some of the time be directed to educational games so that they are practising skills that will be of benefit to them.

Games that involve problem solving are ideal for all ages of children and may incorporate solving puzzles to progress through the game, memorising locations of objects to be collected or deciphering codes. Children are highly motivated by this type of activity and learn without even realising it.

Practising mathematical skills such as rapid recall of multiplication and division facts through a game or competition is an excellent way to motivate children to learn facts that they can then use in their lessons in school.

Story-based games for younger children are enjoyable and can be educational too. As the characters progress through the game, they encourage the young players to make decisions and to explore the online environment which in turn can help to develop thinking skills such as making different decisions, asking questions, making plans, organising and creating information.

Posted on December 15, 2018 at 10:49 am

The PlayStation 4 is an amazing console and proving very popular with gamers all over the world. There are a few different variations such as the PlayStation 4, the Pro or Slim, but essentially they are all great leaving few people disappointed after their purchase.
If you opt for the Pro you will be able to enjoy HDR gaming but only if your television is HDR compatible. The slim model will take up less room and is lighter.
When using your PS4 there are some tips that you should try to enhance game play and make the most out of the features available. Within the settings you can change the brightness of the light on the controller. This allows you to preserve the batteries and get a longer playing time. Your PlayStation can often be linked to your Smart TV and by enabling HDMI Device Link. This will allow you to automatically power on the TV when you turn on the PlayStation.
The new PS4 controllers no longer require a special cable to charge them. This means that should your controller start to run out of power whilst playing you no longer have to sit within a few feet of your console as it can be charged just by a micro USB in a standard socket.

Live Game Streaming – Current Issues

Posted on May 18, 2018 at 7:09 am

Live game streaming is where somebody plays a game live online so that other people can watch and see what they are doing. People have been doing it for a long time, except now, Google’s algorithm is starting to cause problems.

This is YouTube, and other broadcasters’, a way of helping prevent people using copyrighted content. If people are using what they believe to be copyrighted content in their videos, then the algorithm will just shut down the stream immediately. Users can then also get a ban from the platform.

Whilst this is annoying for many, lots of people who actually make their living from video game live streaming are finding themselves unable to access the platforms they use, and they are losing out on income. Many users report the technology platforms being especially unhelpful and not entering into conversation with them, so they cannot fully understand what they have done wrong.
