Downloading Games on an Older Computer

Posted on November 16, 2015 at 9:00 am

Depending on how old the computer is, you should be able to download a variety of different games to play on you P.C/Laptop, but it depends on the graphics card you have as well as the RAM (Random Access Memory), in you’re computer.

Some of the more powerful games may meet the minimum requirements, but you also have to consider the age of the computer and the worn out hardware that may be reaching the end of it’s life.

Therefore if your computer won’t play the games you want, even after meeting the minimum requirements, then a partial upgrade may be possible if the system is less than 2 years old. So if it is less than 2 years old you only really need to get a new Graphics card and more RAM for your system to give it a boost; possibly even a new CPU, but process of elimination first.

Are the Oculus Rift and Other Simulators The Future of Gaming?

Posted on September 22, 2014 at 2:32 pm

Technology in the gaming industry has been striding forward at a break-neck speed for years now, and one of the big new things to emerge out of the industry are reality simulators, like the Oculus Rift.

This device is quite large, and sits on your face, so it might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but it does present an interesting future; even if the specifications aren’t currently up to scratch. While it is certainly usable, and many people claim to really prefer using it to just playing games in the traditional manner, the screens do have their limitations. Firstly, the pixels are clearly visible with it, as they can’t produce higher quality screens which have resolution comparable to a large, high quality television.

While it still may be some time before these simulation devices are picked up by the majority of the gaming community, it is certainly something worth trying out, and will leave most people eager for the next device, which will surely offer even greater improvements to the technology.
